| ClayHouston bi-monthly public meeting featuring Jack Zilker. Jack is an professional photograper, focusing primarily on documenting art and craft objects. He will cover appropriate use of light and other equipment to document artists' work. In addition, he will cover common mistakes made by amateurs and give examples of what galleries/ jurors are looking for in a photograph. Finally, Jack will help people make the most out of the camera and equipment that they already own. Workshops

One of the goals of ClayHouston is to help foster opportunities for learning and professional growth for clay practicioners in the Houston area. We hope to host more workshops next spring. Keep tuned for more information.
Past Workshops include "Decoration, Design, Surface Enrichment with Ceramist Robin Hopper", sponsored jointly by ClayHouston, The Houston Center for Contemporary Craft, Houston Potters Guild and The Salt Grass Potters.
Exhibitions
ClayHouston is pleased to announce that we will be having a number of member exhibitions this year.
Outreach
This year, Empty Bowls Houston 2011 will be TBA. This event is jointly sponsored by the Houston Food Bank, The Houston Center for Contemporary Craft, and local crafts guilds and craftspeople. ClayHouston will sponsor a "throw-a-thon" each year to make bowls to support this event.
