AUGUST 2022 NEWSLETTER

Dear ClayHouston members,

I hope this letter finds each of you doing well! If you’re new to ClayHouston, welcome! I’m grateful that you’ve chosen to be here.

Last month was the opening reception for our exhibition, Push, in partnership with The Alta Arts. We had a wonderful evening celebrating the artists and were thrilled to see our exhibition listed as one of Glasstire’s top five art events in Texas. Be sure to stop by and see many of our member’s work along with our Texas BIPOC Ceramic Artist Award winner’s work, Eliza Au’s . Congrats to Felicia Jordan, third place winner, Tiffany Nesbit, second place winner, and Chenlu Hou, first place winner. Also, a big thank you to local artist and Alief Art House operator, Matt Manalo, for serving as our juror! The exhibit will be on view until September 3 at The Alta Arts located in the Gulfton area of Southwest Houston - 5412 Ashbrook Dr, Houston, TX 77081.

Join us for another Pinch & Bitch this month! You're invited to bring your favorite clay and get ready to pinch some pots while we talk about creativity, technique, life in the studio, and more. Stay tuned for an event announcement hitting your inbox soon!

Lastly, be sure to check out the updated calendar on our website. In addition to finding all ClayHouston events, you can now stay informed about regional ceramic events. If you’d like an event to be added to our calendar, please email our communications chair at info@clayhouston.org by the 27th at 5 PM of each month to be included. If you sent it in for the newsletter, it will already be included.

As always, thank you for choosing to be a part of our community. I’m so glad you’re here!

Cheering you on,

Warmly,
Abbie Edmonson

President
