AUGUST 2021 NEWSLETTER
Looking ahead to Fall we have some exciting events on the horizon!
Pop-Up Marketplace: Saturday, September 18th, from 10am-4pm at the Scout House, 1711 Rutland St, Houston, TX 77008. If you’re a ClayHouston member you should have received an email inviting you to participate as a seller in our upcoming Pop-Up market event. We hope you will join us for a fun day! We’re also looking for donations for our silent auction. Proceeds from the auction will support our Equity.Inclusion.Access (EIA) initiatives. The silent auction will take place at our Pop-Up and anyone can donate items (ceramic work, gift cards, etc) - not limited to participants and members. Send us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org if you would like to make a donation.
The ClayHouston board continues to work together to build on our efforts of improving equity, inclusion and access in the field of ceramic arts. We formed our EIA committee devoted to this task in July of 2020 and continue to work on initiatives that support these goals. We recently created a page on our website that provides more information about what we’ve been up to, I hope you’ll check it out! ClayHouston EIA page
We’d like to continue the EIA initiatives we launched in 2020 and we need your help. We’re starting a fundraising drive and I hope you’ll consider making a donation. You can view more information here . Your donations will support The BIPOC Ceramic Artist Award, ceramic supply donations to underfunded schools, community workshops and more!
One of the fundraisers we’ve launched to support our EIA efforts is a ClayHouston T-shirt sale! The T-shirts are available for pre-order here. They will be ready to ship in early September or you can pick them up at our Pop-Up event.
Don’t forget to save the date for these other Fall ClayHouston events:
