2017 ClayHouston Member Show at Tea + Art

    October 4 - November 5, 2017

    Opening Reception: Sunday, October 8

    Call for Entries: August 1 - September 15, 2017

From sculptural works, to functional vessels, wheel-thrown to hand-built, each artist approaches their work in a unique way but with the use of clay in common. Ceramics is an incredibly flexible medium of expression and the diverse group of ClayHouston artists come together to share a love for this material. This common thread creates a unifying force in our community - the element that brings us all together.

This year’s ClayHouston Member show demonstrates the phenomenal range of work within our community. The flexibility of the ceramics medium will be on display but also something more, a sense of the relationships that we have built with one another.

This is a non-juried show in which any member may submit work and participate. Please join us by submitting up to 3 works for the show

Application: Submit the completed application form and the entry fee of $35. Submission details at Submittable.com.

ClayHouston Presents its First International Ceramic Artist

Spanish ceramic artist Alberto Bustos is a lover of mountains and nature in all their dimensions and beauty. Working in porcelain and stoneware, Bustos makes fragile, delicate individual pieces that come together to translate the essence of plants and nature. His layered works, with their delicate undulating or curved elements, exude the dualities in nature: sharp and fragile, struggle and harmony, life and death.

This registration is for the Saturday, January 27 Workshop only.

Registration for the  Sunday January 28 Workshop will be open once the Saturday Workshop is full.

Waitlist for Sunday can be made at Ron.Loyd@ClayHouston.org.
