MARCH 2021 NEWSLETTER

Dear ClayHouston members,

I started our February newsletter by hoping that you are staying warm and well. Well, it’s March, and I’m going to double down on that. As we continue to recover from this historic Winter weather I hope you and your loved ones are doing ok!

ClayHouston continues in its efforts to create programs and activities that connect our members and provide opportunities for inspiration. It’s our hope to bring some normalcy and inspiration even (and especially!) during these difficult times.

I hope you’ll join us on Saturday, March 13th from 1:00pm - 2:00pm on Zoom for a Virtual Clay Creative event! Michelle Heinesen will give us a studio tour, along with a demo and live Q&A. Michelle will discuss her process, as well as showcase her use of sprigs and small scale press molds to create detail and depth in her current work. Register Here

We also are continuing to gather entries for the ClayHouston Award for Texas BIPOC Ceramic Artists. Please help us spread the word by sharing on social media. You can find more information on our website here: www.clayhouston.org/award and don’t forget, the deadline for entry is Monday, March 22, 2021.

Take care and please stay safe and well. I hope working with clay brings you some joy and comfort as we continue to navigate whatever comes our way.
