Speaker: Suzanne Sippel

Topic: Pricing your work

Suzanne Sippel will be talking about a difficult topic – how to price your work. While she won’t be taking you step by step with your own pieces, (and she’ll cover why not too!) she will discuss guidelines to follow, pitfalls to avoid, and opportunities to pursue. Whether you’re selling your work at a fair or showing your work at NCECA, knowing how to price is critical.

Suzanne Sippel has a BFA in photography, and two years of post baccalaureate studies in art history. She has spent her career in the arts, working in various aspects of the field, from advertising to teaching. For the past eight years, she has been the Asher Gallery Manager at Houston Center for Contemporary Craft. In her role she represents 120 artists in the sales gallery, and works extensively with the organization’s fundraising.

When not at work, she serves as co-regent for the Baron von Ohren. She says that it’s a challenge working for royalty, especially the German Boxhuahua kind, but she manages.
