Ever received less than stellar glaze results? If you’ve ever been at a loss over mysterious glaze flaws, please join us for ClayTalks on Monday, April 13th at 6-8 pm. Kim Tompkins, formerly of the Ceramic Store of Houston, will go over common glaze problems, along with how to successfully troubleshoot and prevent them from occurring again. If you have any pieces that have puzzled you, please bring them for us to examine and find the solution.
Bring work you would like feedback on. Bring yourself and your ideas to share with the group!
Who: This event invitation is extended to all ClayHouston members and their guests
What: A casual critique of members' work to help brainstorm ideas and troubleshoot
When: Second Monday night of each month from 6PM to 8PM
Where: Beck's Prime, in the Heights at 115 West 19th street
Why: To establish a community of ceramic artists within Houston
How: Bring your actual work or photos of your work. We will have a laptop and a projector with a VGA cable. You can bring your photos on a cd, thumbdrive, etc, or bring a device which can accept a VGA interface. The library also has wi-fi, so as long as we can connect we can look at online image galleries as well. A Clay Houston member will be there to help with the technology.
