Curious about Salt-firing?
Michael Unger, Professor of Arts & Design at San Jacinto College, has agreed to give a two evening workshop.
Each attendant may bring one piece of cone 10 or higher porcelain or stoneware, which has been bisqued. No larger than 12” tall x 6” wide x 8" deep.
On Friday he will discuss slips and glazes, and how to apply them for the best results when salt-firing. Each participant will be able to decorate their piece of bisqueware.
On Saturday, the kiln will be loaded and fired.
Register for a Hands On Salt-Firing Workshop. Friday, Oct. 2, 6:30pm - 10:00pm and Saturday, Oct. 3, 8:00pm until the firing is over at Ceramic Studio, San Jacinto College central campus, 8060 Spencer Hwy., Pasadena, TX.
