ClayHouston is partnering with The Moody Center for the Arts at Rice University to host a clay workshop in conjunction with the exhibition, Brie Ruais: Movement at the Edge of the Land. The workshop will consist of 2 hours of facilitating experiences with clay and hand-building. ClayHouston will be providing clay, tools and project worksheets as well as allowing visitors to experience clay in a fun and unstructured way. Visitors will be able to pass through the workshop area in small groups and work in a hands-on way with a small portion of clay that they can then take with them.
During the workshop, ClayHouston volunteers will help distribute materials to participants and provide basic guidance, as needed, on how to handle and manipulate clay. There is no structured instruction during the workshop and participants will come and go as they like.
Please note that this is an in-person, indoor event. We will be following the COVID-19 protocols in place at Rice University. Masks must be worn indoors, attendance is limited and the large workspace will enable social distancing.
