SEPTEMBER 2021 NEWSLETTER

Dear ClayHouston members,

The ClayHouston Pop-Up Market is almost here! We’re so excited! The event will take place on Saturday, September 18th, 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM, at The Scout House in the Heights, 1711 Rutland St, Houston, TX 77008. Our members have been hard at work in their studios and I hope you’ll join us to support our local makers and buy some ceramics! Also, please help us spread the word about the Pop-Up by posting to social media and sharing with your friends! You can find more info here .

If you would like to sell your work at the Pop-Up but didn't have a chance to sign up, we've had a space open up free-of-charge. 3rd Coast Clay has generously donated a spot for anyone who would like to participate.  First come first served, just email info@clayhouston.org to let us know you're interested.

We have been watching the COVID Delta variant reports closely and are proceeding with caution. The Pop-Up Market will be in-person but we ask that all participants and visitors please wear masks during the event. We will have hand sanitizer stations at both of The Scout House entrances and are happy to provide you with a free mask if you need one.

This year we will have a Silent Auction table at the Pop-Up event that will include some wonderful items that our members and community have donated. We will also be selling some of the new ClayHouston T-shirts there! Additionally, you can still buy a T-Shirt in our online fundraiser.   Proceeds from the T-shirt sales and silent auction support our Equity.Inclusivity.Access (EIA) initiatives.

We just opened the call for the 2021 ClayHouston Member Exhibition: “For Now...For Later”. You can view the prospectus and entry form on the ClayHouston Submittable.com Page. We’re excited to see what you’ve been working on and hope you’ll enter your work into the show! Don’t forget, the deadline for entry is September 17th!

We’ve also been gearing up for our biggest event of the year, the Bayou City Clay Crawl. You should have received an email with information about how to participate. Be on the lookout for more details coming soon, and if you have any questions you can send us an email at bayoucityclaycrawl2021@gmail.com.

Take care and hope to see you soon!
