My introduction to ceramics came in the early 90’s as a birthday present from my husband. We had recently moved to Washington, DC and were just getting settled in. Knowing that I had always been interested in pottery, he found a teaching studio and signed me up for lessons. This was the gift that kept on giving. More than twenty years later I am still taking classes — now at the Glassell School of Art the teaching institute of The Museum of Fine Arts in Houston, Texas.
After retiring from a career in marketing management in the environmental industry, I turned my passion for pottery from an avocation to a vocation and haven’t looked back. My sculptural work has been accepted in a number of area exhibitions. I have had pieces in the Houston Center for Contemporary Craft Garden project for the past 2 years. A selection of my works are for sale at Impromptu a small boutique near Rice Village.
